Chronology of cameras Korsten

This ‘jumelle’ camera was made by Lucien Korsten in 6.5 x 9 and 9 x 12 formats. It was made at least between 1898 and 1902, when it is present in Korsten and other distributors’ catalogues.

It has typical sliding optical viewfinder and a fixed magazine for 12 plates. The lens is a fixed focus achromatic with front iris with a nominal scale (1-5). The guillotine shutter has Time (P) and Instantaneous (I) modes – the instantaneous mode has variable speeds on a nominal scale (1-5) controlled by spring tension.

This camera was also distributed by Conquerant in 1898 (as La Radieuse in 6.5 x 9 cm format), and Photo-Sport in 1901 and 1902 (as ‘Jumelle Nº1’, recommended for beginners in 6.5 x 9 cm format).
